Uninsured in America: A Chart Book The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured released "Uninsured in America: A Chart Book" on 16 May 2000 which provides a comprehensive portrayal of the uninsured--many of them workers and their families--and includes trends and major shifts in coverage, a profile of the uninsured, an assessment of why so many Americans are uninsured, and data documenting the difference that health insurance makes in the lives of Americans.

Gaps in Prevention and Treatment: Dental Care for Low-Income Children Tooth decay is responsible for children missing 52 million hours of school each year, especially among low-income children who have poor access to preventive dental care. This Urban Institute brief looks at disparities in care nationally and in 13 states. 4. Oral Health: Dental Disease Is a Chronic Problem Among Low-Income Populations In the United States, one of the most prevalent chronic illnesses affecting children's overall health is tooth decay, a disease that disproportionately affects low-income families. 5. Expanding Health Coverage for Kids The Center on Law and Social Policy is presenting recommendations on expanding health coverage through child support to Congress this month.
