Kids Health Insurance Week: Our Successful Marketing and Media Outreach Campaign
Highlights included:
- Proclamations by Lieutenant Governor Mazie Hirono and all 4 mayors.
- Partnered with Hawaii State Department of Health WIC Branch, Waimanalo Health Center, and Hoola Lahui Hawaii to sponsor outreach events.
- Partnered with Aloha United Way, American Academy of Pediatrics-Hawaii Chapter, City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation, Good Beginnings Alliance, Hawaii State Department of Education, Hawaii State Department of Health, Hawaii State Office of Community Services, North Shore Community Health Center, and Ready to Learn to distribute information.
- 14 radio and television interviews.
- 3 news articles in The Honolulu Advertiser and 2 news articles in The Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
- Statewide paid advertisements on 5 television stations, 21 radio stations, and in 10 newspapers.
- 1,331 calls in August concerning children's health insurance to our hotline service (Ask Aloha United Way).
- 3,812 visitors in August to our web site (www.coveringkids.com).
- 1,347 more applications received by Med-QUEST in August than the monthly average.
- 1,169 kids enrolled in Med-QUEST's expanded programs.
- Our approximate budget was $50,000, therefore the campaign cost $42 per child enrolled.
